INSOMNIA

Most adults have experienced insomnia or sleeplessness at one time or another. It is estimated that 30% - 50% of general population are affected by insomnia. While insomnia can be a symptom of a physical disorder, for most people it is an effect of tension, stress and anxiety. Lack of sleep ultimately affects your quality of life and affects all age groups. Among adults, insomnia affects women more often than men. The incidence tends to increase with age. Stress most commonly triggers short-term or acute insomnia. Using hypnosis to help with insomnia is all natural and very effective.  As a result you will experience a peaceful night's sleep and will awaken refreshed, revitalized and renewed.

When the mind is busy, with worry, anxiety, fears, anger, emotional conflicts, etc. it has a hard time slowing down. Some people hear music in their head, repeat endless statements with their inner voice or just worry so much about not being able to sleep that they indeed cannot sleep!

If you have insomnia, you know the problem. You start worrying early in the day about whether or not you are actually going to be able to sleep that night. And once you miss a night of sleep, you worry even more about not sleeping the next night. And this perpetuates the problem. Worrying about insomnia creates the insomnia.

Your brain is an expert at having insomnia. It does not know how to do it any differently. If it did, you wouldn't have the sleep disorder any more. So, in order to sleep deep, you are going to have to teach your mind how to relax and use hypnosis techniques to manage worry and anxiety and stay asleep once you are asleep.

Hypnosis is very effective in helping chronic insomnia. It is easy. It works. I wish more people would try it, instead of all the pills and drugs. This is why hypnosis works so well. Hypnosis changes the way the subconscious mind works. It creates the belief that something is possible, acts on it as if it is real, and creates a new outcome. In this case, sleep. Benefits of getting adequate sleep include releasing anti-aging hormones which help you maintain your youth, maximizing your metabolism, enabling you to control your appetite better, allowing you to relax, and keeping your mind and memory sharp. Getting the sleep you need also increases the feel good hormones released by your brain which makes you feel happier.

TYPES OF SLEEP PROBLEMS THAT RESPOND WELL TO HYPNOSIS:

Insomnia  (can’t get to sleep or can’t stay asleep) can be debilitating. Lack of sleep leads to irritability and lack of performance. Hypnotherapy will “retrain” the mind to sleep peacefully and wake up only at the time you want.

Frequent waking  is often caused by worrying about life issues. Through specialized techniques you train your mind to let go, quiet down, and stay asleep.

Night eating  can be conscious (aware) or subconscious (not aware). It is best to use a combination of positive suggestion and looking at the source of the problem.

Restlessness  during the night disturbs the sleep patterns. It can be caused by anxiety or a medical problem. Through hypnosis you can lower your stress, learn the “relaxation response” and improve your sleep quality.
